Accounts & Sign-in
Creating your PranorAI account
Creating your PranorAI account
Everything in PranorAI — chats, projects, knowledge bases, training jobs, billing — hangs off one account. This page covers creating that account, the two kinds of account you can create, and what to do if signup fails.
Before you start
You need one of the following:
- an email address you can receive mail at (password recovery and account
deletion both send codes to it), or
- a Google account, if you would rather sign in with Google.
Create an individual account
- Open PranorAI in your browser and go to Sign in (
/login). - Switch the form to Sign up.
- Enter your name, your email address, and a password.
- Decide whether to tick Remember me (see What "Remember me" changes
below — it is off by default).
- Submit the form. You are signed in immediately; there is no email
confirmation step to wait for.
Password rules
- Minimum 8 characters.
- There is an upper length limit as well (long passphrases are fine; the
limit is generous enough that you will only hit it by accident).
- The same rules are enforced again on the server, so a browser extension or
an API client cannot skip them.
Pick something you do not use anywhere else. PranorAI stores only a hashed form of your password — it cannot be read back, which is also why nobody at PranorAI can tell you what your password is if you forget it.
Create an account with Google
On the sign-in page choose Continue with Google instead of filling in the form.
- In the browser: you are redirected to Google, then back to PranorAI
signed in.
- In the desktop app: PranorAI opens your normal system browser (Chrome,
Edge, Safari, Firefox — whatever you use) rather than showing Google's login page inside the app window. This is deliberate: Google itself blocks sign-in from apps that embed its login page, and a real browser is where you can see the address bar and check that you are really on Google. After you approve, the browser hands the session back to the app automatically.
If the hand-back does not happen (a browser that blocks the redirect, a firewall, or you closed the tab too early), see If the desktop hand-off does not complete below.
A Google account has no PranorAI password. If you want one later, use Forgot password to set one.
Create an organization account
If you are setting up PranorAI for a company or a team rather than for yourself, use the organization signup form instead of the individual one. It creates the organization and makes you its organization admin, which is the role that can invite members, create teams, set roles and permissions, and manage the organization's billing, models, and infrastructure.
Read Organizations → Roles and permissions for what each role can do before you invite anyone.
Being added to an existing organization
You cannot be invited into an organization before you have an account. The flow is:
- You create your own PranorAI account first (individual signup, above).
- You tell your organization admin the exact email address you signed up
with.
- The admin adds that email from the organization console.
You are then attached to the organization straight away — there is no invitation email to accept and no pending invitation to find. If your admin says they added you and nothing changed, refresh the page, and check that they used the same address you actually registered with.
The bot check
Signup, sign-in, and password recovery are protected by a bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile). Normally it passes silently. If it visibly fails:
- disable a script blocker or strict privacy extension for the PranorAI
domain, then retry;
- if a corporate network blocks Cloudflare, try from another network.
What "Remember me" changes
- Ticked — your session is kept after you close the browser, so you come
back signed in.
- Unticked (the default) — your session lives only as long as that
browser tab. Closing the tab signs you out on that device.
Leave it unticked on a shared or public computer. It changes only how long the session is kept on your device; it does not change anything about the account itself.
Your profile code
Every account gets a profile code that looks like PRN-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. It is an account locator, not a password — it is safe to give to support, and it is used to finish a desktop sign-in manually if the automatic hand-off fails. It never signs anyone in on its own; the account password is still required alongside it.
Troubleshooting
"Invalid credentials" when signing up. That message is used for a failed sign-in, not signup. Check you are on the Sign up tab.
The form rejects your password but does not say why. It is almost always length — use 8 characters or more.
Signup says the account could not be created. Usually an address that already has an account. Use Forgot password to get back into it rather than creating a second account, because chats, files, and billing are tied to one account and are not merged later.
If the desktop hand-off does not complete. Sign in on the website in your browser, copy your profile code from Settings → Account, and paste it into the desktop app's manual hand-off field.
Do / don't
- Do use an address you will keep access to. Password recovery and
account deletion both need a code emailed to it.
- Do sign up yourself before asking an organization admin to add you.
- Don't create a second account to "start clean" — you will split your
data and your billing across two accounts.
- Don't share your password. Share your profile code instead if support
needs to find your account.
